IDA for its hard work and success in attracting this new employer to Louth. This is good news for the local economy. With an unemployment rate of nearly 17%, Louth needs more of these announcements.’

He added that although the announcement is ‘a vote of confidence in Dundalk and the wider region, the government needs to do much more to attract such investment on a continuous basis. This includes ramping-up the delivery of broadband for the area and, as highlighted recently by executives at National Pen, it also means ensuring that employees of these companies have real housing options available to them.’

Louth TD Fergus O’Dowd, said: “I’m delighted 125 jobs will be created in Louth. Recruitment is already underway and the roles being created will be in the area of general ledger, treasury and compliance, and customer support.

It is excellent news for the town of Dundalk and the county as a whole to have such a prestigious company creating jobs in the region.

A key priority of this Government, through our Regional Action Plans for Jobs, is to create jobs in rural Ireland and this significant number will have an excellent impact on Dundalk.

Graebel’s establishment here will also greatly assist foreign direct investment (FDI) relocating to Ireland and Europe.

The EMEA Financial Shared Services and Operations Centre in Dundalk will provide a broad range of finance functions across multiple levels of experience, including general ledger, treasury and compliance, as well as customer support roles.

It also will serve as an additional operations centre in Europe to support Graebel’s EMEA headquarters in Prague, and the growing needs of Graebel’s clients in managing their international talent mobility and relocation programs.’
