Rock fired through man’s front window

MAN SHOCKED BY LOUD BANG AS MISSILE THROWN THROUGH WINDOW

DUNDALK gardai are investigat­ing the attack on a house along the Castletown Road last weekend.

A missile was found thrown through the front window of the house as the shocked resident responded to a ‘ loud bang’ at around 8pm on Saturday.

Gardai have asked anyone in the area at the time, who could have seen any suspicious activity to contact them on 042 93 35377.

Meanwhile, an assault along Park Street is also being investigat­ed.

The incident was reported to have taken place at around 3.45 am on Saturday morning.

The victim approached gardai to report an injury above his eye, alleging that he had been punched in the face by another man.

He gave a descriptio­n to gardai of his attacker as being around 5 ft 8 inches in height, with brown hair and wearing a blue t-shirt.

Gardai have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the assault to contact them on 042 93 35577 or the confidenti­al telephone line 1800 666 111.

The number of burglaries in the area continues to increase as a number of incidents were reported over the last week.

Residents of a hous in Knockagh, Hackballsc­ross returned home on Saturday night to find their front door forced open and a number of rooms inside ransacked .

They reported several items stolen, including two Samsung laptop computers and a black Toshiba laptop. A small quantity of cash was also missing.

The break in was reported to have occurred between 7pm and 11pm on Saturday night.

A Bachelor’s walk resident reported a shed at the back of his home broken into overnight on Friday night last, although nothing was missing.

Gardai are also investigat­ing the theft of a number of builders tools after a van parked along the road at Gibbstown, Ardee was broken into on Tuesday last.

A Dewalt chop saw and a Festool plunge saw were reported to have been stolen.
