NEW DEAL FOR CX+ AND IRISH ATHLETES

AN Taoiseach Leo Varadkar announced a new partnershi­p between Athletics Ireland and Dundalk based CX+ Sport during his visit to Dundalk last week.

The new partnershi­p sees CX+ Sport supply Athletics Ireland with a full selection of team wear, including performanc­e apparel for all internatio­nal competitio­ns.

CX+ Sport will also supply training kit and leisurewea­r for medal ceremonies, travelling and public appearance­s.

The new CX+ Sport kit will be worn for the first time by Irish athletes at the European U23 Track and Field Championsh­ips taking place in Bydgoszcz, Poland later this week.

Speaking on the announceme­nt John Foley Athletics Ireland CEO said: ‘Athletics Ireland is delighted to be working with CX+ Sport, one of Ireland’s new sports brands. We are very proud to be working with an Irish brand and look forward to working with the team at CX+ Sport. This sponsorshi­p deal represents an exciting time for both Athletics Ireland and CX+ Sport.’

Georgina Drumm, President of Athletics Ireland also revealed her delight at the announceme­nt of the new sponsorshi­p deal ‘Being from Dundalk, I am thrilled that a local business has come on board as a new sponsor for Athletics Ireland. I am excited to see both our Junior/U23 and Senior athletes perform in the new CX+ Sport kit at the upcoming internatio­nal track and field championsh­ips this summer.’

David Minto, Commercial Manager for CX+ Sport said: ‘ This is an amazing honour for our relatively new brand to be providing kit to the Irish athletics team. It was always the long term plan for the brand to be represente­d internatio­nally and this is a major milestone following our unpreceden­ted growth in the last two years. We are incredibly excited about this partnershi­p and look forward to continued success in the future both on and off the track.’
