Dundalk Wine Circle fair

Dundalk Wine Circle will host their annual ‘Wine Fair’ this Thursday September 28th at the Oriel Centre, Dundalk Gaol at 7.30pm.

Dundalk Wine Circle meets once a month in An Táin Arts Centre, where members get the chance to taste a range of fine wines presented by profession­als from the wine trade.

The meetings are informal and allow members to taste wines from all corners of the earth that may not be readily available on supermarke­t shelves. After tasting the wines members have the opportunit­y to buy the wines at discounted prices. Entry is €10 and a donation from the proceeds will be given to a local charity. In August 2014, Capt. Geoffrey Walmsley of the Church Army, a mission focused community within the Anglican Communion of which the Church of Ireland is a member, became lay pastor to the Dundalk Group of parishes which includes Dundalk and Heynestown Union, Ballymasca­nlan Union and Creggan. On Friday next, 29th September, Geoffrey will be ordained a deacon of the Church of Ireland by His Grace, The Most Rev Dr Richard Clarke, Archbishop of Armagh, in St Nicholas’s Church (The Green Church) at 7.30 pm. All are welcome to attend the Service of Ordination.

Originally from Kilkeel, Co Down, Geoffrey spent nine years in pastoral work in Seapatrick Parish, Banbridge before moving to Dundalk on his appointmen­t as Acting Rector of the Dundalk Group of Parishes three years ago.
