Louth’s Gogglebox trio
THREE Louth lads became the unexpected stars of Gogglebox Ireland, when the hugely popular tv show launched a brand new series last week.
Michael (25), David (24) and Gerry (25) were all introduced as a new ‘ household’ which will feature in the current series.
The Louth trio have been best friends since childhood and all live within five minutes from each other in the Cooley Peninsula in north Louth.
As the first episode began, viewers learned that the
Cooley lads entertain with their humourous take on the latest tv shows
hilarious three all attended the same primary and secondary schools, but then went their separate ways for university and college.
Michael studied Electronic Engineering and now works as a sales rep.
David went to DIT in Dublin, before moving to France for a year and now works as a software expert, while Gerry works as a personal trainer.
Despite their busy lifestyles, they still make time for a weekly ‘ lads night in’ to catch-up on the telly in Gerry’s parents’ house.
The lads also revealed their other hobbies include socialising and playing GAA.
Although they admitted to rarely being able to agree on what to watch on TV, they all enjoy ‘First Dates’ and ‘ The Simpsons’, often quoting phrases from the series when together.
With a slightly different take on what makes good TV, Gerry revealed that he was a big fan of this summer’s Love Island, while Michael admits to being fixated on Sky Sports.
David lives with his granny so he grew up watching daytime TV with her, including The Jeremy Kyle Show and Loose Women.
Gogglebox has been a ratings hit, with ordinary people becoming the stars of the show as they give their honest take on some of the biggest shows on tv at the moment, right from the comfort of their own living room!
