Threatened tokillcharge dismissed

-

A 28-year-old man accused of threatening to kill or cause serious harm to a woman, has had the charge dismissed at Dundalk court.

Stan Domadej, St. Brigid’s Terrace, Dundalk, had denied the offence which was alleged to have occurred at St. Brigid’s Terrace on 15 April, 2016.

However, after hearing evidence, Judge Coughlan said he had to dismiss the charge, as there was no evidence the incident occurred at St. Brigid’s Terrace.

Alan Carr told the court Domadej, who lives next door to him, racially abused his wife when she returned home from shopping.

They had parked outside his home, as there was no space outside their own house.

He was standing inside, at an open window, with a black-handled kitchen knife in his hand.

Mr. Carr added his children are afraid of this man.

Fatou Nget gave evidence that the defendant used racist and derogatory words to her. She was with her partner, the previous witness, and the kids, at the time.

He said he was going to kill her. He had what looked like a knife in his hand. It shone like silver.

Ms. Nget continued she is afraid of Stan Domadej, and locks herself in the house, because of him.

Defence barrister, Irene Sands submitted there was no evidence given as to where or when the offence occurred.

Her client lives in St. Brigid’s Terrace, and Mr. Carr and Ms. Nget in Mary Street North.

Judge Coughlan dismissed the charge.
