Fun day to celebrate new look Londis

-

BELLURGAN Service Station celebrates the official launch of its new look Londis store with a family fun day on the last day of the month, Saturday 30th September.

This is by way of a big thank you to all their loyal customers over the years and for their patience and understanding over the course of the recent revamp of the store.

A fun filled programme has been arranged to run between 2pm - 5pm with lots to do, food to eat and taste , and plenty of great prizes to be won, while also using the milestone to help local charity with all coffee and tea proceeds on the day being donated to the local Maria Goretti Foundation.

The owners are also running two separate competitions for local schools in the lead up to the official opening, the results of which will be announced on the day.

One is a colouring competition involving the four primary schools in the area, Bellurgan NS, Dulargy NS, Rampark NS and Mullaghboy NS, in which there are three categories, catering for those in junior infants to first class, pupils in second to fourth class, and then in the senior classes, fifth and sixth. The winner in each category will receive a €25 Smyth Toys voucher.

The other is for the two transition year classes in Bush Secondary School who have been given the opportunity to win an Ipad for their class. The transition year students have been offered a head to head challenge to design a signature sandwich for the store’s deli which will be unveiled on the open day.

The fun and entertainment will comprise face painting and a DJ will be in attendance, and there is the opportunity to win wonderful prizes by spinning the Wheel. The top prize is a full HD 40” JVC Smart TV.

Food sampling from the deli will be on offer along with baked goods from McNamee’s Bakery and plenty of other treats to suit all members of the family.

The family run business is located at the Greenore end of the Bellurgan strait, opposite Bellurgan National School and Bellurgan FC. It is owned by the Dunne family which they operate in conjunction with a Great Gas filling station.

The owners and management pride themselves on the freshly cooked food from their deli. They also ensure that every need is catered for with Whites family butchers located adjacent to the store.

Currently 20 staff is employed between the deli and shop, which are held in the highest regard. “We are lucky to have an exceptional team with a special mention for our manager Majella Loughran. Her and the staff ’s hard work over the course of the revamp ensured that Bellurgan Service Station continued to run smoothly and is greatly appreciated.”

This is the second major revamp carried out at the premises in the past 10 years. But on this occasion the owners completely redecorated the shop and deli, installing state of the art appliances , including two brand new Bewleys coffee machines and creating a new seating area.

“We are deeply grateful to BWG and Londis for all their help, support and advice throughout, “commented a spokesperson

Representatives of the Maria Goretti Foundation have kindly agreed to perform the official opening ceremony by cutting the traditional ribbon.

All customers can keep up to date with any news and learn of the latest great offers and prizes that are available at the store on the Bellurgan Service Station Facebook page.
