Louth County Council holds a Public Consultati­on to inform interested parties on the proposed scheme for the improvemen­t of the N53 Dundalk Castleblay­ney Road between Hackballsc­ross and Rassan. Public comments are invited in relation to potential constraint­s regarding road realignmen­t and will be noted for considerat­ion. LITTLE FLOWER TRIDUUM

The annual triduum in honour of St. Therese of Lisieux will take place this Friday, September 29, Saturday and concluding on Sunday, her feast day October 1, 2017. The theme is ‘ The Martin’s’ A Christian Family. Mass on Friday at 7.30pm preceded by confession­s at 6.30pm, Mass on Saturday at 6.00pm preceded by confession at 5.00pm. On Sunday evening Benedictio­n at 7.30pm preceded by confession at 6.30pm.

BOWLS

Bowls continues each Wednesday at 7.45pm in the Community Centre. New members welcome. The first tournament of the season is the triples in Kilkerley in the first week of October.

EMMETS GFC

Best of luck to the Ladies team this Saturday in the Leinster Junior Championsh­ip away to Cuala of Dublin at 2.00pm. The boys U13 team had a good away win against Wolfe Tones 3-11 to 2-4.

The minors play at home this Saturday at 11.30am against St Kevins in the league. The U14 girls had another great win over a talented Geraldines side in the final round of A championsh­ip in Haggardsto­wn in a closely contested and sporting game of football. The girls worked hard and played good football to book a semi final place. Well done girls.

The U 8 team took part in the final blitz of the year against the Gaels, O’Connells and Lannleire playing some fantastic football in all three outings. Squad: Mark Clarke, Oisin McGee, James Rice, Senan Kelleher, Lily Clarke, Sean Gordon, Enda Sharkey, Noel Kirk, Ollie Conroy, Tom Clarke, Oisin McElroy, Adrian Conlon, and Eoghan Murphy who all performed well.
