Hilarious comedy ‘The Space’ on way to Friary Hall

LOCAL actors have joined with a number of their counterpar­ts from Dundalk to stage “The Space” a play written by Ardee native Grainne Jordan.

The playwright has strong local family links with the parish, and her sister Eimear Boyle is directing the production.

Another of Grainne’s plays “Only an Hour from Dublin “was performed by the local HaggleRock group in 2015 to packed audiences.

“The Space” is like it a hilarious comedy and will be staged in the Friary Hall, Anne Street, Dundalk and is scheduled for a two night run on the 10th and 11th November 2017 starting at 8pm.

The creator Grainne, has received rave reviews for her comedy and the cast includes well-known names from Blackrock and Dundalk; Jack Montgomery, Joan Wilson, Maeve Montgomery, David Lennon, Fiona O’Murchú, Barbara Finigan and Stephanie Rocks.

The play revolves around the unusual surprise retirement present that Madge receives from her husband Dave and the conflict which arises when her plan for a stress free retirement gets hijacked by her family with hilarious consequenc­es.

The play is produced by Mary Reilly and Amy Galligan. ‘The Space’ which received rapturous praise, has been performed in several theatres in Ireland, and due to its phenomenal success it has gone on to delight internatio­nal audiences.

Its next global performanc­e is scheduled for Abu Dhabi in March 2018. Talented playwright Gráinne of MoMo Production­s has many other plays to her name including ‘Café Crunch’, ‘Dusty Memoirs’ and ‘Room with a Queue’.
