Boggers host musical cancer fundraiser

THERE is a joint Dunleer and Ardee cancer fundraiser at Boggers in Ardee on Friday 1st December. Local band Crying Shame along with The Full Shilling will head the bill for Dunleer.

The Ardee musicians performing for the night feature legendary guitarist John Farrell along with many friends from the Ardee area.

This event is being promoted by Dunleer’s Liam Reynolds and the aforementi­oned John Farrell from Ardee.

Admission on the night is €5 and all proceeds are in aid of Local Cancer Support Group. Free Bus from Dunleer to Ardee sponsored by Derek Bowhan.

On Friday 8th December, Scoraiocht are holding their Annual Wren Boys Festival at the Teach Scoraiocht in Dunleer. This will be a huge night for the local children who submit their own little music and play groups. Scoraiocht would like to thank their usual main Sponsors Glen Dimplex, Dunleer Credit Union and Centra Dunleer.

Rose Downes from Scoraiocht does fantastic work every year in organising the children and the committee are very thankful to Rose and the other Music Teachers who makes the Wren Night a beautiful Christmas family event.

Saturday 9th December will see the ‘Keep the Home Fires Burning’ at Connors Bar ,Dunleer. A huge Traditiona­l Irish Music Session led by Liam Reynolds, Hugh Conlon and Sean Clare.

Beautiful Christmas Hampers will be up for raffle on the night . Proceeds from the Raffle will go to benefit local worthy causes.
