- BY JOHN MULLIGAN

Margaret Caroll from Greenore was the big winner in the Argus Cash for Christmas final in the Ballymascanlon House Hotel last Thursday night when she won the biggest prize of the night - €4,000.

Ten lucky Argus readers were chosen from the hundreds and hundreds of entries for the Cash for Christmas draw.

Last Thursday night the lucky ten took part in a gameshow style final in which six won €500 and the remaining four advanced to the next round in which three won €1,000 each and one - Margaret Carroll - walked away with the top prize.

‘We love competitions in the Argus, we are lucky to have so many loyal readers and customers and we love running competitions for our readers’, explained Editor John Mulligan.

Over the years the newspaper has run many novel competitions from Pay Your Mortgage for a Year, a Buy up the Town €10,000 shopping spree, trips to Republic of Ireland, Liverpool and Manchester United games, to our regular word searches which are always extremely popular with readers..

‘We are giving away more prizes this Christmas with Shop Local vouchers in association with Dundalk Chamber and you could win Shop Local vouchers worth €500 or €100 in this week’s edition’.

Margaret Carroll was the €4,000, Gabriel Reilly, Debbie Rooney and Peter Hughes each won €1,000, while Noleen McGee, Frank Lane, Bernadette McEnteggart, Michael McMahon, Malachy Mills and Briege Gorham each won €500.
