‘HIS SMILE WILL SHINE FOREVER’

TRAGIC DEATH OF JONATHAN WOGAN (43) IN KITE SURFING ACCIDENT IN THAILAND

TRIBUTES have poured in for local man Jonathan Wogan who died following a kite surfing accident in Thailand last week.

A member of the well-known furniture and building supplies family, closely associated with the business world of the region for many decades, Jonathan’s death has stunned a wide community of family and friends.

The family had a furniture business in Clanbrassi­l Street for many years until they relocated to the North Link Business Park on the Inner Relief Road. They also had stores in Dunleer and Drogheda.

The 43-year-old was kite surfing at Huahin, Thailand when his line became tangled and he fell into heavy surf.

Rescue efforts began immediatel­y and he was pulled from the water some time later, but tragically passed away.

He had made many friends in that part of the world due to his business contacts and had been living there for some years. One tribute simply stating ‘ his smile will shine forever.’

Son of John and Nora Wogan, he was a past

student at Gormanston College.

Jonathan formerly lived in Blackrock and was the beloved husband of Zulee and father of Mila. He is survived by his parents John and Nora, sister Siobhán, brothers Alan, Niall, Ronan and David and a wide circle of other family members.
