-

The artistic talents of Dundalk students shone through once again as prizes in the Amnesty International Poster competition were announced last week.

The theme of the campaign this year was ‘Fairness’ which said Joan Brady, from the Dundalk Amnesty International group, ‘ was brilliantly captured by the students taking part.’

Speaking about the competition, she explained ‘ The standard of entries is going up every year, and we are delighted with the enthusiasm from all of the schools taking part.’

‘Every year I remind students how far their talent can’t take them,’ said Joan.

‘One of our former winners, local student Fergal Kilkenny is now studying a Masters in Art, and I spoke about his success to this year’s competitors.’

Prizes were awarded in a range of categories, and were presented to students by Amnesty International (Ireland) campaigner and Activism manager, Kieran Clifford, who also praised the standard of entries this year.
