Great atmosphere in Ballymac

-

Amy Pearse, Drogheda and Suzie Lennon, Blackrock at a Christmas party night in Ballymascanlon House Hotel. ON Friday night I headed for the Ballymascanlon Hotel where their annual Christmas Party was in full swing and the place was packed with party revellers.

I wasn’t too long in the door when I met up with my old friend Michelle Reidy from Blackrock with husband Noel who were part of the Dr. Shane Gleeson party group who also included his wife Tina, Claire and Adrian Corcoran from Knockbridge, Daryl O’Hare from Kilkerley, Maria Smith from Armagh Road, Sandra Halpenny from Ardee, pharmacist Roisin Flanagan from the Orchard County, and Carina O’Reilly from Phillipstown who told me they are all part of the Lis Na Dara Medical Centre and were there to party, party, party!

Not too far away I then got talking to a group from Foleys thatched tearooms in Castlebellingham and they included Jacko Callan, Belfry Drive, Elaine Callan from Cooley Park, Bernie Downey from Avondale Park, Joe and Gary O’Donoghue from Darver, Chloe Kavanagh, Diane Hughes and Grainne Callan all from Castlebellingham who were all in fantastic form and really looking forward to their Christmas party night.

Next I got talking to David Hearty from Kingswood who told me he was there with the rest of the crew from Bellurgan Precision Engineering and was having a laugh with Marie Mullan from Avenue Road who were joined by Ken Kirwan from Willville and Gabriel McQuillan from Rockcorry who assured me it’s always an epic night when they get out together.

After this I headed over to the St. Josephs National School who included Andre O’Connell from Mountpleasant, the two Paul McGee’s, one from Carrick Road, the other from Inniskeen who told me he wasn’t have a good night, Stephen Toner from Riverstown and Paul Molloy from Haggardstown who told me they were going to have a fantastic night with all their compadres.

I then bumped into my old mate Johnny Walker from Ard

Easmuinn who was therewith the Glen Dimplex crew and assured me it was going to be a cracking night.

Making my way over to another group I got a word with Anord Control Systems and met up with Tony Elmore from Carlingford who was having a laugh with Paul Smith originally from Scotland but now hanging his hat in London (expensive cab home, I thought) and Ronan McCartney from Haggardstown who were there for a totally mad one and were joined in this endeavour by Judy McDonough from Black- Diane Hughes, Castlebellingham and Grainne Callan, Dublin Road. Chris Caulfield, Darren Meehan and Bruce Kinch.

rock and Michael McFadden from Kells, John Doherty from Mountpleasant, Jacqueline Wilson from Blackrock and Louise Casey from London who were all looking great and having a fantastic night.

I then got a swift word with my old mate Darryl O’Kane from Blackrock who was there with Niall O’Callaghan from Glenwood who looked bemused by the stories being told about the Monday night Endsleigh League in the Century Bar all those years ago.

Not far away I got talking to Damien McShane from Cooley who was having a laugh with Brian Peppard from Monaghan who assured me it was going to be anything but a quiet celebration.

Before I departed, I had the pleasure of meeting up with some of the ladies from St. Josephs National school and they included Carmel Hamilton from Blackrock, Jenny Byrne from Carrick Road, Emma Hennessy from Blackrock, Sinead McGill from Avenue Road and Muirne Lawlor from Heynestown who told me they are great staff and there was great party fever on the night too!
