Cooley native is appointed to leading GAA post
COOLEY native Lyn Savage has been appointed by the Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) as the new National Development Manager.
Lyn has been working with the LGFA for ten years, and until December held the position as National Development Officer for over a decade, where she worked to encourage the development of the sport for women across the country.
A proud Louth woman, Lyn is a former member of the Cooley Kickhams club.
She also speaks from experience when working in GAA development, as she was an inter-county player with Louth Ladies for fifteen years.
Announcing he appointment, a spokesperson for the association said:
‘Continuing the LGFA’s recent rate of growth and expansion, Lyn will help to oversee the implementation of the association’s new Strategic Plan, which will be launched shortly.’
She is a former GPO with the Dublin county board.
A graduate of Ulster University, Jordanstown, Lyn is also a qualified Coaching Ireland tutor.
I addition she has gained qualifications in LGFA FUNdamentals Level 1 & Level 2, GAA Foundation Level and Level 1 Football and Hurling, and FAI Kickstart 1 & 2.
Lyn, who was previously a National Development Officer with the LGFA, is also hugely involved in the Climb4Clare campaign and the associated CLIMB programme.
CLIMB4CLARE is a fundraising campaign being organised by the Ladies Gaelic Football Association to raise much needed funding to ensure the provision and roll out of the CLIMB Support Programme in Cancer Care Centres around the country.
