Betty Bailey (née Mac Namee), Chapel Street and formerly of Knockbridge, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 14 January, 2018, in her 98th year, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in the love and tender care of Saint Francis Nursing Home, Mount Oliver. Predeceased by her husband Cathal. Very deeply regretted by her sons Eoghan, Pat, Joe and Clem, daughters Frances McKenna, Breda McCourt, Catherine Gray and Helen Lane, sons and daughters in law, 25 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, sister in-law Mary Mac Namee, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family relatives, wonderful neighbours and friends. Reposing at her residence Chapel Street from Sunday evening 6pm to 9pm and Monday 12 noon to 9pm. Removal on Tuesday afternoon at 12.45pm, proceeding on foot to Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, arriving for Funeral Mass at 1pm, followed by burial in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Dundalk.

Ned Stokes, O’Hanlon Park, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 13 January, 2018, peacefully, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Ned, beloved husband of Margaret and loving father of Eddie, Paddy, John, Mary, Julia and Valerie. Predeceased by his sons Michael, Kieran and Andrew, parents Michael and Nanny, grand-daughters Susan and Kenzie, brother Michael, sister Julia. He will be very sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters, sons and daughters in-law, brothers and sisters in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family circle, wonderful friends and neighbours. Reposing at his residence O’Hanlon Park from Sunday evening at 6pm. Removal on Wednesday morning at 10.30am proceeding on foot to Saint Nicholas’ Church, Bridge Street, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by burial in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Dundalk.

Oliver Murphy, Mullaharlin Park, Dublin Road, Dundalk, whose death occurred, peacedully, on 12 January, 2018, in the tender and dedicated care of the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Beloved father of Kevin, Anthony, Emma, Daniel and Kate. He will be sadly missed by his loving sons, daughters, daughters-in-law Angela and Sarah, Emma’s partner Ricky, grandchildren Charley, Oliver, Ruby, Hermione, Shannon, Evie, Paul, Katelyn, Jack and Sarah, brother John, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Maryanne, brothers Thomas (Don), Billy, Joe, Andy, Danny and sisters Mollie, Aggie, Margaret and Kathleen. Paddy Doogan, Crescent Two, Muirhevnamor, and formerly of The Lisdoo, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 11 January, 2018, peacefully, at Our lady of Lourdes Hospital. Predeceased by his parents Bernard and Brigid and brother Bernard. Paddy will be very sadly missed by his nephews and nieces, cousins, extended family relatives, wonderful neighbours and friends. Reposing at his residence Crescent Two, Muirhevnamor, from 12noon to 9pm Saturday and Sunday. Removal on Monday morning at 10.40am to The Church of The Holy Family arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by burial in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Dundalk (via) The Lisdoo.

Josephine Dowling (née Carville), late of Dublin, formerly of Dundalk and Castleblayney, whose death occurred peacefully, on 11 January, 2018, in the care of the staff in Beneavin House. Predeceased by her loving husband Paddy and son Gerry. Deeply regretted by her daughters Maura (Melia), Carmel (Moran), Peggy (Meany), Patricia (O’Brien) and son Nicholas, daughtersin-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Sr. Josephine Dowling, brothers-in-law Alf Booth and Dennis White, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Josephine will be reposing at the Kirwan Funeral Home, Fairview Strand on Sunday from 3pm to 5pm with family in attendance. Removal to St. Gabriel’s Church, Dollymount on Monday morning arriving at 9.50am for 10am Requiem Mass, followed by burial at Dardistown Cemetery.

Jean Lennon (née Carolan), Mary Street South, Dundalk, whose death occurred, peacefully,on 12 January, 2018, in the kind and gentle care of the staff at The Glencarron Nursing Home, Crossmaglen. Beloved wife of the late Gerry and predeceased by her parents, brother and sisters. Jean will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends and by all who knew and loved her. Reposing at Dixon’s Funeral Home, on Saturday and Sunday between 12 o’clock and 4 o’clock. Removal on Monday morning at 10.30, walking to St Nicholas’ Church, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock. Rosaleen Sands (née Kelly), 45A Beech Park, Blackrock, whose death occurred peacefully on 12th January, 2018 aged 95 years. Beloved wife of the late John and dearly loved mother of Marcella, Bernadette, John and the late Bobby. Reposing at her daughter Bernadette’s home, 45A Beech Park, Blackrock, Co. Louth. Those who wish to pay their respects may call between 3pm and 9pm daily. House private on morning of funeral. Requiem Mass will be held in St. Oliver Plunkett’s Church, Blackrock on Monday, 15th January, at 11am followed by a private family interment in Belfast City Cemetery. Peter Toner, Cairlinn, Ghan Road and formerly Castle Hill, Carlingford, whose death occurred, peacefully, at Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, surrounded by his loving family. David Grills, Ballynamoney Bradshaw, Carlingford, whose death occurred peacefully, on 9 January, 2018, in the tender and dedicated care of the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Beloved son of the late John and Alice and dear brother of Johnnie, Alec, George, William, Ernie and Freddie. He will be sadly missed by his sorrowing brothers, sisters-in-law Lyn, Muriel and Yvonne, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Paul John, beloved son of the late John and Olive and dear twin brother of Colm and brother of Eugene, Nuala Mallon, Julie McFadden, and Olivia Larkin. Frederick Carpenter, Castletown Cooley, Riverstown, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 7 January, 2018, suddenly at his residence. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Anna. Frederick will be sadly missed by his brother Noel, sister-in-law Bernadette, nephew Noel, nieces Maria and Emma, cousins, extended family relatives, neighbours and friends. Oliver Carroll, Mourne Vale, Avenue Rd, and formerly of Market St, and Wolfe Tone Terrace, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 8 January, 2018, suddenly at his residence. Oliver, beloved husband of Anne (née Pettigrew) and dear dad of Eamonn and Maria. Predeceased by his parents John and Annie (Dolly), brothers Vincent, Malachy and Michael, sisters Mary and Anna. Micheál, beloved son of the late Micheál and Irene (née Weldon) and brother of Anne, Paddy and Johnny, brother-inlaw of Ann, uncle of Maeve and Ciaran.
