- By Olivia Ryan

Dundalk gardai have renewed earlier appeals for a group of women who shared a taxi in the early hours of New Year’s day to come forward.

In particular they are appealing to three women who shared a taxi with one other woman from Park Street.

The three women got out of the taxi together opposite the Long Avenue on the Avenue Road, while the fourth passenger remained in the vehicle.

Gardai at the detective unit have appealed for the three women who got out of the taxi to make contact with them on 042 93 88400.

Meanwhile, gardai intercepted a man who was believed to have been involved in a break in at a car parked at Mullaharlin on Monday morning. The 38 year old was arrested by gardai, and was found to be in possession of a passport. He also had other items on his possession including a laptop, wallet, and a jacket and gloves.

A break in was reported at St. Malachy’s girls school last weekend. The windows of two classrooms were forced open. A garda spokesman said that a ‘small amount of change’ was reported missing.

Dundalk gardai seized two knives during an incident at Clontygora last weekend. Two men, an 18yr old and a 20 yr old were charged with possession of knives following the incident.

Gardai confirmed a man was removed to hospital with suspected head injuries following a road accident at Springhill, Tallanstown on Thursday night last. Three units of the fire service, three garda patrol cars and an ambulance were on the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the accident should contact Ardee garda station at 041 6853222.
