CLOVERHILL

THE last official duty of outgoing Captain Seamus McParland will be to host his prize presentati­on dinner on Saturday Feb 3 in the clubhouse. Cafe Brew, Dundalk will be the caterers and the event will get under way at 8 pm sharp.

Golfer of the year David Hamill will be presented with the Spill Assist Trophy after jetting in from Belgium. All the medal winners and club matchplay singles and pairs winners and the Wednesday Cup winner will also be prize recipients on the night followed by music and song.

There are a few tickets remaining from club Secretary Mark or from behind the bar.

Snow was this week’s winner as the second round of the 12 hole Eclectic League had to be put back a week. After clearing all the greens of snow there was still too much lying on the fairways for play to continue.

Secretary Mark has circulated the notice of motions and nomination­s for the Annual General Meeting which will take place in the clubhouse on Sunday February 4. On that Sunday morning at 10-30 am there will be a shotgun start 12 hole Singles Stableford Sweep. There will be compliment­ary food after the golf just prior to the A.G.M.

Patrick Malone will be hosting his Captain’s Drive -in on Sunday March 4 at 9-15am. As is the norm the Drive-in will be followed by a shotgun start scramble. Timesheet is posted in the clubhouse with all of the new members cordially invited to put their name on the sheet in a fun golf outing, The usual seeded handicap draw for mixing up the teams will take place on Friday March 2.
