Rather special party for Jordan’s 21st birthday
ON Saturday night I headed for a rather special 21st birthday party being held in the clubrooms in St. Joseph’s GFC for Jordan Mackin from Darver and there to make sure he had an excellent night were his parents Aine and Declan, brother Josh, grandparents Dermot and Kathleen McKeown from Knockbridge and Brenda Mackin from Darver.
Jordan who works for Boylesports and kicks football with the Joes was in great form and ready to party the night away when I caught up with him. He wanted to thank everyone who had made it to the party.
I then headed for one of the tables where I met up with Aidan Kieran from Killincoole, Robert Galligan and Ciaran O’Neill both from Darver who are all great mates of Jordan’s, said even though it was quiet night so far, for me to callback around 3am and see who the party was going then!
I then headed for a table where I caught up with Jordan’s godfather Noel Mackin from Walterstown who was with his delightful wife Una introduced me to Jordan’s granny Brenda who was with Josie and Tommy Mackin from Ardee Road who assured me they certainly weren’t there for a quiet night and wanted to wish Jordan a very happy birthday.
Not too far away were other grandparents Dermot and Catherine McKeown from Knockbridge who were with Edel Sloane from Riverside Drive who all wanted to wish Jordan all the best on his big night.
Also in their company were two cousins and an aunt Oisin Shields, Kate and Louise Wynne all from Knockbridge who said it was going to be a brilliant night for them and more specially for Jordan.
Meanwhile over art another table I then got talking to John and Linda Murphy from St. Marys Road and John and Brenda Laverty from Mill Street who are friends of Aine and Declan’s, with a golf theme I thought, needless to say they weren’t going to end up as part of the furniture on the night.
Making my way over to anther group I then met up with Niamh McKeown, Jenny and Alan McCourt and Kevin ‘ the hitman’ Hillard all from Knockbridge who were getting ready for a major night of fun. The Hitman then started reminiscing about his battles against The Joes and how soft they were. Tough words from a man who was getting ready to party in their clubrooms, I thought!
Meanwhile up at the bar I caught up with Sean Laverty who told me he was from Coxes, then when for Marian Park, me I woulda guessed Mill Street, he was having a laugh with Jordan’s brother Josh who told me it was going to be a super night.
Just in the door was aunt Dara Cunningham from Knockbridge who was about to go over and join all the others at the ‘Aunts table’ and wanted to wish Jordan a very happy birthday.
Next I met up with Jenny Flood from Drogheda and Sarah Conway from Swords who are family friends and were also heading for the aunts table where all the early craic was.
Meanwhile up near the bar I got a word with Andy Clarke from Muirhevnamor who was there with aunty Gillian Bell from Dromiskin and they were all set to make it a real night to remember.
Finally, before I departed I got talking to Aidan Shaw from Duffy’s Cross, Amy Sheelan from Lordship and Aidan said that Jordan is his best mate and they were going to celebrate the 21st in style and this idea was agreed upon by uncle Aidan McKeown from Ballybarrack who was just after arriving in.
