Ridleys hand over proceeds from festive night to SVP
Ridleys Nite Club in Dundalk last week presented €3,000 to the St. Vincent de Paul Society in town.
The money was contributed by patrons attending the Nite Club during the Christmas and New Year period.
It is the second successive year that the Nite Club has supported the annual appeal by the Society, and Kevin Mulligan, Area President of the Society thanked the patrons, staff and management for the support.
“It is very heart warming to all of us working in the Society to see people contribute so generously to our appeal, for in so doing they clearly recognise the need that exists and the work that over 100 volunteers in Dundalk are doing” said Mr. Mulligan.
The presentation was made by James Robinson, Manager of the Nite Club who said that they were delighted to support the appeal and added that it was obvious from the level of support they received that the work undertaken by the Society was greatly valued by their patrons.
The Society’s annual appeal in Dundalk held over the Christmas period raised almost €140,000 through church collections and donations.
The money, Mr. Mulligan said, would be needed to fund the Society’s many activities throughout the year, such as helping families at Christmas, on which the Society spent €42,000 this year, and with directly help to families and educational support to schools and students.
