Longer route of St Patrick’s Day Parade

THIS year’s St Patrick’s Day Parade promises to be bigger and better than ever as it makes its way through the streets of the town from Bridge Street to Dublin Street.

The full details of this year’s programme of events, sponsored by Dundalk Credit Union, Market Street, will be announced at the launch of the parade in the Oriel Centre, Dundalk Gaol on Thursday.

In keeping with the ‘Dream Big Dundalk’ theme, the parade, led by Grand Marshal Zoe Conway, will cover the entire length of the town from Bridge Street to Dublin Street.

After the Parade, the Dundalk Credit Union/Pelican Promotions Family Fun Zone returns to the Market Square with music, food stalls and kids fun rides. €6 wristbands will be on sale in the run up to St. Patrick’s Day and on the day offer- ing unlimited use of the amusements.

David Minto, St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee Chairman said there’s definitely a buzz building up around the day. ‘Everything is gathering pace. Parade applicatio­ns are coming in and everyone is delighted with Zoe Conway being our Grand Marshal. Dundalk Credit Union are proving to be an invaluable sponsor. We just would love the weather to be on our side and the sun to shine on March 17th but regardless there’s a great day’s events planned’.

Closing date for parade applicatio­ns is Friday 9th March.
