QUIZ THIS EVENING

The parents and Friends’ Associatio­n of Knockbridg­e School host their annual Family Fun Quiz this evening, Tuesday, February 13, at 7.30 p.m. in Halla Setanta. Always a fun family evening with questions to suit all ages and prizes for family outings on offer. Entry is €25 per table and there should be at least one adult and one child on each team. Past pupils are welcome to come along on the night. There will be a raffle and refreshmen­ts will be also served.

IRISH DANCING

Dearbla Roddy continues her classes in the Parish Centre on Thursday at 4 p.m. and her contact number is 086 8242670. Trócaire This organisati­on is looking for new volunteers who will be Parish Ambassador­s in the Armagh Diocese to help raise awareness of the challenges facing the world’s poorest communitie­s and the difference been made by support from Ireland. Confirmati­on takes place on April 27 at 11 a.m. The best way to book Masses is to call to the sacristy before or after Mass any day (Monday evening; Wednesday and Friday mornings – except First Friday; Saturday evening, or Sunday morning), as the Mass book is usually kept there. Please pray for Una Fox, Grange, Breda O’Hanrahan, Dundalk, Seán Keane, Little Ash, Betty Bailey (née McNamee) Dundalk, Freda Power, Mullaghbaw­n, née Wallace, Grange, Anthony Kerr, Ardee, Mary Hamill, Newtown, Peter Farrell, Stephensto­wn. Baptisms take place every fourth Sunday of the month at 11.30 a.m. Mass and a baptism course will be held each month with course dates posted in the church Porch. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the church followed by Benedictio­n at 10 p.m. Confession­s are available on Mondays before 7.30 Mass and from 9.30 p.m. to 10 p.m., at the end of Eucharist Adoration, and at any time by request. Station Masses are more common in the West of Ireland where families host a Mass in their home and invite neighbours and friends. If you would like to host a Mass during Lent and Easter please contact Fr Gerry or Fr Paddy as soon as possible. Mass this Ash Wednesday, February 14, is at 7.45 a.m., and Lent begins on Ash Wednesday which is a day of fast and abstinence. House Blessings Another initiative for World Meeting of families is House Blessings, so if you would like your house blessed during Lent Gerry and Fr Paddy are happy to oblige. 31 HOURS OF PRAYER FOR LIFE

As you know the referendum on the eighth Amendment is taking place in May. In preparatio­n for this you are invited to a marathon of prayer from Sunday, March 11, at 12.30 p.m. to Monday, March 12, at 7.30 p.m. in St Mary’s Church, Knockbridg­e, for the protection of all Human Life from the first moment of conception. It will begin and end with Mass. A rota of hours will be placed at the entrance to both churches in the coming weeks.

CEMETERY MAP

A Graveyard Map has been erected on the side of the church. The names of all those interred have been included. Future burials shall be recorded with details sent to irishgrave­yards.ie. A new up to date sign will be erected in the summer of 2020.
