Are you tough enough to fundraise?

THAI BOXING EVENT TO HELP MARIA GORETTI FOUNDATION

- By MARGARET RODDY

FOLLOWING on from last year’s successful charity fund raising event ‘ Tough Enough’ which saw local club Dundalk Thai Boxing raising €1,500 for the Rainbows charity and €1000 for the Walk for Rory Fund, the club are now looking for volunteers, both male and female, for their next charity event which will take place in the summer. This year the proceeds will go to the Maria Goretti Foundation which is a local charity which provides much needed respite care for children with disabilities at their specially built centre in Lordship.

Training for the challenge spans twenty weeks, four evenings a week, with the training conducted by qualified Thai Boxing instructors. Upon completion of the training, volunteers will have the optional opportunity to compete in a specially arranged Muay Thai Show complete with safety equipment, an MC and entrance Music. The show itself will actually be held on the Sunday 25th August

If you think you have what it takes, want to get fit and learn a new skill, and in the process help raise much needed funds for a local charity, then why not take a trip down to the Dundalk Combat Academy on the Coes’ Road on Monday 12th from 6.30pm to 8pm to

find out more and speak with some of last year’s Tough Enough Crew to hear about their experiences of the training and making it to the Big Fight Night Show.

Registration takes place from 1pm to 5pm with a registration fee of just €50 which covers your 20 weeks of training. Further details can also be found on the Clubs FaceBook Page.
