Family awakened by quick thinking neighbours

-

Residents of a house at Demesne Terrace, in Dundalk were alerted by the quick thinking of neighbours who detected smoke coming from their home in the early hours of Thursday morning last.

Neighbours of the house along the terraced row had smelled smoke coming from the adjoining house, and began knocking on their front door to alert them.

The family were evacuated shortly after, and emergency services arrived at the scene.

Two units from Louth County fire Service were in attendance, and a spokesman said the fire damage was limited to a solid fuel burner.
