Lennon’s Gastro take top awards

Louth bars restaurant­s celebrated a series of top titles going home to the wee county at the Leinster regional finals of the 2018 Irish Restaurant Awards.

Among the top performers were Lennon’s Gastro Pub, Castletown Road, which scooped Best Chef and Best Gastro Pub.

The Best Casual Dining went to Eastern Seaboard Bar & Grill, Drogheda, with Best Emerging Irish Cuisine going to Goose Restaurant and Wine Bar, Adee .

The Best Kids Size Me went to Dine at Dundalk Golf Club, while the Best ‘Free From’ sponsored by Peroni Nastro Azzurro Gluten Free was awarded to the Bare Food Company,

The Best Restaurant Manager award was presented to Michael Hulme of Eno’ Bar & Grill, with the Best Wine Experience being won by Ghan House, Carlingfor­d.

The coveted ‘Pub of the Year’ titled was awarded to Russell’s Bar, Dundalk, while the Best Café award was won by Strand- field Café, and Best Customer Service to the Monasterbo­ice Inn.

The Best Hotel and Guesthouse Restaurant award was won by Scholars Townhouse Hotel, Drogheda, with Best Newcomer to Goose Restaurant and Wine Bar

The prestigiou­s Best Restaurant was won by The Bay Tree Restaurant & Belvedere House.

Speaking at the awards, Adrian Cummins, Chief Executive of the Restaurant­s Associatio­n of Ireland (RAI), said, ‘Now in their tenth year, the Irish Restaurant Awards continue to showcase the exquisite and admirable calibre of food available in our restaurant­s and pubs.’
