Rape Crisis NE delighted with proceeds of pub quiz
The Dundalk based Rape Crisis North East were delighted to accept the proceeds of a fundraising event held recently.
Carmel Pinto organised a pub quiz in the Lisdoo along with her daughter Cassandra and son David, raising an incredible €4,500.00 throughout the evening in order to help survivors of Rape and Sexual Violence.
As part of this fundraising event an auction was held for a Dundalk Jersey donated by Sinead and Paddy Toal and an evening of entertainment took place in St. Francis Primary School in Blackrock which contributed towards the €4,500.00 raised.
Grace McArdle Manager of Rape Crisis North East remarked ‘I wish to acknowledge with thanks and great appreciation your donation of €4,500.00. We are thrilled that such a significant sum of money was raised for our charity as it is or such a worthy cause. These vital funds will help us continue to support clients of rape and sexual violence and their families in the North East region of Ireland’.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Carmel, her daughter Cassandra and son David and all those who participated and supported the event.’
Grace McArdle, commented that ‘ the funding will contribute towards not only enabling us to progress and expand in our specialised field of work but also assist us in continuing the delivery of a professional and dedicated counselling service. It will help transform our counselling service into a comfortable and welcoming environment and help convey to them that RCNE is a place where they can feel safe, this is a place where they can speak freely and this is a place that they can speak in confidence. It is essential that we create an environment that is warm and calming for effective counselling to take place’.
‘ Thanks to Carmel, Cassandra and David’s generosity, their support will ensure the continued excellence of our counselling service.
Once again, thank you so much for supporting our charity. It is very much appreciated by all our staff, volunteers and board of directors.’
