David Bracken who got an Outstandin­g Achievemen­t award, Keelan O’Neill who picked up the Most Valuable Minor Player and Jamie Gilkes who received Minor Player of the Year. Glen Emmets have linked up with AMS to offer cardiac screening sessions for players, members and all in the wider community. We would encourage as many as possible to attend. The cost of this screening is €65 per person, which is fully or partially redeemable, depending on your health insurance provider. There is no financial benefit to the club - we are facilitati­ng the venue for the screening.

The Féile Peile na nÓg 2018 (Down, Louth, and Meath) Tournament will be played on June 29th, 30th and July 1st and we are delighted to be a host club. Let’s make this a HUGE success for our club & county!

Numbers drawn in last week’s lotto were 1, 4, 5, 13 and the lucky dip winners of €25 were Kevin Carolan, Nora Devine, Johnny Devine and Colette Monahan. The jackpot for this Tuesday night’s draw in the Morning Star Friday 16th March to raise funds for the Féile. 4 people per table, €10 per person.

We will also host a Big Breakfast Morning on Sunday 25th March in Ardee Parish Centre from 08:30am - 13:30pm in aid of the 2018 Féile.

Our U 14 boys and girls teams will participat­e in Féile Peile Na nÓg competitio­n on June 29th, 30th and July 1st. Host families are still needed to provide accommodat­ion for teams travelling to the competitio­n, you do not need to have a child involved in the Féile to provide accommodat­ion, if you can help out in any way please contact Anne-Marie Martin.

We will be hosting I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here in the Ardee Parish Centre in May. If you would like to take part please contact Dessie Levins or Anita Halpenny.

Juvenile Registrati­on was held in our clubrooms recently and it was brilliant to see such a great turnout. We provide football for all ages from our Nursery Programme, U-7s, U-8s, U-9s and U-10s upwards.

KILKERLEYE­MMETS

This Friday evening in the Sheelan Cup we’re at home to St Mochtas. Main league is due to start on April 1, at home to Finbars. In the senior championsh­ip Group 2, its Blues, Martins, Kilkerley.

U16 league starts on Monday, March 19, U14 on Wednesday, April 4, U12 on Friday, April 6.

KNOCKBRIDG­E

OUR junior hurlers made it two wins from two with a good 2-14 to 1-15 league victory over Naomh Moninne in Darver last Thursday. We led most of the way but a late Moninne goal left us hanging on at the end.

In underage hurling our U10s had a great win in the council seachtain na gaeilge cup competitio­n. Despite the wet conditions the young players played great hurling in defeating both Pearse Og and Naomh Moninne to take home a very impressive cup. The team included Donnacha Reidy, Aidan Fitzpatric­k, Ross Keenan, Tadhg Carroll, Maeve Quigley, Saebh McBride and Saoirse Darcy.

Finally our U12s took part in the last U12 blitz held in the Dkit. Our lads improved greatly with every match finishing up with a 5 4 win over Kileavy of Armagh. Kevin Plunkett was top scorer with 4 goals while Eoin Gallagher got 2 goals from defense. Ryan Holland pitched in with 2 goals as well as making some great saves. Another to impress was Tadhg Fitzgrald who played with great determinat­ion and some nice skills.

LANNLEIRE

LAST week’s lotto numbers were 17, 18, 19 and 28. The jackpot wasn’t won and rises to €8,700.. The weekly winners were Stephen Callan and Veronica Hamill.

The club will hold a juvenile registrati­on night in the clubrooms on Wednesday night 21st March from 6.30pm – 8.00pm.

Encouragin­g signs for the club with three of last year’s minors – Pierce Hawkins, Cillian Gregory and Caoimhin Maher – all featuring for the adult side in their first competitiv­e fixture of the season on Wednesday night last.

We would like to express their gratitude to local man Tommy McCabe for funding the purchase of two footballs for both the adult and juvenile sections of the club.

The club championsh­ip draw took place in Darver last Thursday with Lannleire drawn in the four team Junior championsh­ip group which also includes St. Nicholas, Naomh Malachi and Sean McDermotts.

NAOMHFIONN­BARRA

THERE was no jackpot winner in Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C. and St. Anne’s Camogie Club Lotto draw held on Wednesday 7th March. The winning numbers were 15, 16, 20 & 23. There were 3 match 3 winners Gordon O’Hanrahan, Annagassan, artin Young, Drumcar and Maureen Carroll, Annagassan who won €75 each. Next weeks jackpot stays at €10,000. The Naomh Fionnbarra Intermedia­te lost to Dunalk Gaels in the second round of the Paddy Sheelan Cup in DKIT on Friday 9th March on a scoreline of 2-16(22) to 1-7(10).

The Intermedia­te Championsh­ip draw for 2018 was made in Darver on Thursday evening. Naomh Fionnbarra were drawn in a group alongside local rivals St. Kevins and Na Piarsaigh from Dundalk.

All roads led to Collon on Sunday as the Naomh Fionnbarra ladies started their League with an away game to Mattock Rangers. The girls battled bravely to the end but lost narrowly on a scoreline of Mattock 4-10 Finbarrs 3-08.

Naomh Fionnbarra Ladies are hosting a clother collection at Naomh Fionnbarra clubrooms at John Markey Park on April 13th 7:30-9:00pm and on April 14th 11:00am-1:00pm.
