Minister Ring to officially open Playground
The official opening of the new Cooley Community Playground will take place on Thursday March 22 at 3.30pm. The Minister for Rural and Community Development, Mr Michael Ring, will be officiating.
The Playground is the result of a joint venture between the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Louth County Council and the Local Community, through funding obtained under the “CLÁR 2016” scheme and from substantial fund raising in the local community.
The playground project would not have been possible without the very generous support and sponsorship from local businesses, individuals, groups, organisations, children and their families who contributed to the project in many different ways from sponsorship, making donations, selling tickets, taking part in or helping in any way to organise the many fundraising activities, but in particular the project would not have been possible without the co-operation and assistance provided by Cooley Kickhams GFC and their commitment to lease the ground on which the Playground stands to Louth County Council. The people of Cooley are eternally grateful to Cooley Kickhams for their kind and generous contribution to this project.
Following the opening ceremony, light refreshments will be served in Cooley Complex, everyone is welcome to attend.
