Carrick arn on dumping
The problem of illegal dumping at Carrickarnon was highlighted at the recent meeting of the Dundalk Municipal District.
Cllr Peter Savage urged that Louth County Council take steps to provide the problem and called for the erection of a new solid gate and poles to replace one which had been knocked down and never replaced.
He said all sorts of rubbish was being dumped including a dead donkey and dead sheep.
While the council was cleaning up the area and leaving it in good condition, more dumping kept occurring and something needed to be done to stop people accessing the area.
