Fr Tommy to lead the first ever Cooley St Patrick’s Day parade
THE inaugural Cooley Peninsula St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place this year, starting at Murphy’s Garage, Bush, Riverstown, and parading down the main Dundalk / Greenore road to finish up at the Cooley Kickhams GFC football grounds, Fr. McEvoy Park.
All groups, clubs, bands and floats that are taking part in the parade are requested to be assembled at Murphy’s for 12.30pm with the parade commencing at 1pm. Volunteers will be stewarding the route of the parade to ensure the safety of participants. The Grand Master of the Parade will be Fr. Tommy McNulty.
Following the Parade there will be a disco and refreshments for the children in the Sports Hall, whilst upstairs in the Cooley Complex function room, complimentary bowls of Irish stew will be served.
Musical entertainment will be provided by Ceol Heads. Full bar facilities will be available and the Ireland / England rugby match will be shown on the big screen along with the GAA All Ireland Club Final on the smaller screen. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The success of the parade is dependent on many people from the organising committee to the many local businesses and individuals who have sponsored and supported it, along with the participants in the parade and those who come along to watch it – wouldn’t it be great to see the Cooley Peninsula St. Patrick’s Day Parade become one of the best rural community parades in Ireland?
We can make this happen, but we need your support!
