Free recycling workshop comes to Louth
VOICE Ireland’s new Recycling Ambassador Programme which providing interactive recycling workshops to help people improve Ireland’s recycling rates and reduce levels of contamination in household recycling bins, is coming to Louth next month.
In this new initiative VOICE Recycling Ambassadors across the country are providing workshops free of charge for community groups, businesses and at events.
So far, over 3,400 people across Ireland have attended these workshops and on April 11th at 11am local people will get the opportunity to attend one at Stephenstown Pond at Knockbridge (Exit 16 off the M1 eastwards towards the N52).
The Recycling Workshops are being offered to help people improve Ireland’s recycling rates and reduce levels of contamination in household recycling bins. People can put paper and cardboard, plastic bottles, plastic pots, tubs and trays and tins and cans in their bins but they shouldn’t be dirty or contain food residue.
People may not be aware that everything going into the bin needs to be empty, clean and loose.
The recyclables need to be ‘clean enough to tip onto your kitchen floor’ and not packed inside other items or bags or boxes.
The VOICE initiative has been funded by the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment and REPAK.
