Pádraig’s VERY special 40th birthday night out

-

Carol Cumiskey from Dublin Road and Jane O’Brien from Beechmount Drive . Mandy Stevenson from Manydown Close and Maria O’Toole from Bay Estate. ON SATURDAY night I headed for the Castle Bar where a rather special 40th birthday party was being held for Pádraig Cumiskey from Kilkerley and there to make sure he had a fantastic night was his mum Blondie Cumiskey from Beechmount Drive, sisters Sharon Murchan from Mullabawn, Denise Woods from Knockbridge, Michelle Woods from Greenacres and Yvonne Flynn from Beechmount Drive, brothers Barry Cumiskey from Beechmount Drive, Martin Cumiskey from Glenwood Close, Paul Cumiskey from Kilkerley and a huge collection of family and friends.

I was only in the door when I met Pádraig, who wanted to thank everyone for coming to his party and wanted a special mention for the band 6 for 7, who were playing their debut gig and whose drummer Sean is his sister Denise’s son and they were giving a great account of themselves while I was there.

Pádraig was there with his mates Colin McQuaid from Dublin Road, Alan McGee from Ardee, John Smyth from Muirhevnamor, his brother Barry, Conor Howley from Greenacres, Alan Norman from Edentubber, who were talking to Sinead Lynch from Bishops Court and Anthony Collins from Faughart, who all thought the band were great and were on for making it a mad night.

After this I caught up with Gerry McElroy from Greenacres, who was with his wife Carol and he told me his son Stefan also plays in the band.

Not too long later I had the pleasure of meeting up with two of his nieces Aimee and Deborah Flynn from Beechmount Drive, who wanted to wish their uncle all the best and were up for making it a mad night.

Meanwhile over at another table Ii then got a talking to Linda Boylan Inniskeen, Maeve Mulholland from Ravensdale, Carl Hanratty from Blackrock, Kay Tuite from Oakland Park, Lillian Morton and Carol Fagan from Oakland Park, who thought the band were just fantastic and wanted to wish Pádraig all the best on his big night too.

I then headed over for a word with Kevin and Louise Finegan from Cluan Enda, who were with Carol and Gerry McElroy who I’d met earlier and they thought the band were just outstanding.

Making my way through the crowds I met up with Ray and Jane O’Brien from Beechmount Drive with sister-in-law Rosemary Rogers from Oakland Park and they wanted to wish their cuz all the best on his big night.

Looking well and ready to party were Ercan and Emrah Yildirim from Park Street, who were up for making it a mad one.

After this I caught up with Jim, Carol, Elizabeth and Tommy Wallace from The Crescent, Jim told me he is an old footballing buddy of Pádraig when it was five-a-side on a Thursday night and then down to Toales for the quiz!

I then had the pleasure of talking to Maria O’Toole from Dowdallshill, who was with Maggie Stephenson from Manydown Close and Bernie Collins from Mountpleasant, who were really enjoying the night.

Finally before I departed I caught up with Vincent Litchfield and John McMahon from Beechmount Drive and Tommy Dixon from Fatima, who were delighted to be there and were definitely going to make the best of Pádraig’s 40th.
