OUR seniors begin their Cardinal O’Donnell Cup campaign this weekend, taking on Geraldines at Pairc na nGaeil. They’ll be hoping to improve on last year’s performance, when, following a slow start, they qualified for the semi-finals.
On Friday night last Malachy O’Rourke’s men were beaten by St Mary’s in extra-time in the semi-final of the Sheelan Cup.

OUR senior hurlers have qualified for the special hurling league final following a hard fought 0-15 to 0-9 win over Mattock Rangers. In a close contest the ability of Knockbridge to pick off long range points proved the difference in the end. Our final group game is against St. Fechins fixed for Saturday week April 14th.
Our U.12 hurlers are in action this coming Thursday in the Brides field at 6.30 p.m. Naomh Moninne and Pearse Og will provide the opposition.
Finally this Friday April 6th the club have a fundraising bagpack in Dunnes Stores Ard Easmuinn. All help and support on the day will be greatly appreciated.

The exercise track at John Markey Park is open for use, so feel free to come along and do your walking in safe surroundings. There is a social membership fee of €25 to cover the cost of insurance, which can be paid to any committee member. You will then be issued with a membership card, all those who are contributing to Club Barrs or already have membership paid are covered. We welcome everyone to come along and enjoy the facilities.

JUVENILE training continues on Saturday afternoon at the DKIT Centre from 2pm to 3pm with the usual €2 contribution still applying.
Our U14 team play their first game in the Feile competition tonight (Tuesday) when they take on St Fechins at the DKIT at 6.45pm. The played Camlough in a challenge on Saturday afternoon losing by 7-9 to 6-3.
Following on this Thursday night our U12 team play in a three team blitz hosted by Knockbridge and also featuring Pearse Og at 6.45pm.
The clubs senior league match against St Fechins last Friday night fell foul of the weather and is refixed for Wednesday April 11 at 8pm at a venue TBC.
The annual Naomh Moninne table quiz takes place on Friday April 20 in McGeough’s Jocelyn Street at 9.30pm. A table of four cost €40.

We are working closely with Wolfe Tones GFC who have been selected to run a Gaelic 4 Girls programme. One of only 10 clubs in Leinster chosen!!! The programme is aimed at girls aged 8-12 who have NEVER played Gaelic before & aims to give them all the basic skills they need to integrate into Gaelic football. Programme will start Wednesday 11th April 7-8pm and run for 8 weeks. All participants will receive an official LGFA Gaelic for girls training t shirt and will be eligible to play in a provincial blitz on 16th June. Training continues for boys from under U10’s down to nursery every wednesday at 6.30. new players of all age groups welcome, while Registration continues this Wednesday evening during training.
