IRISH LANGUAGE CLASSES

Two new six-week Ranganna Gaeilge/Adult Irish Language Classes will take place in Kilkerley Community Centre. A new Advanced Course will start on Tuesday next, April 17, at 7.30pm. This course follows from the six week course held before Easter, but new attendees are always welcome at any stage throughout the course. These classes are most suitable for those who remember a little Irish from their schooldays. A new Beginners’ Class will start on Wednesday next, April 18, at 7.30pm. This class will be suitable for complete beginners or those who remember very little of their Irish from their schooldays. Emphasis will be placed in both of these courses on the spoken word. Each course will cost €5 per week, pay as you go, or €30 for the six weeks. All proceeds in Aid of Kilkerley Playground Associatio­n’s fundraisin­g effort. An evening of healing and prayer with Eddie Stone takes place in the Church on Friday April 20, from 7.00pm.

Knockbridg­e Tidy Towns invites any member of the local community or anybody else or garden centres that might be splitting or replanting perennial plants, flowers or shrubs to consider donating some to be planted in and around the village of Knockbridg­e. We are always trying to enhance the area so your donations of flowers, shrubs would be greatly appreciate­d. If you can assist, please leave perennial plants, flowers, shrubs in St Brides Clubrooms beside MacNamee’s Pub in the Village Centre any day from Mon- day to Friday before 3.00pm. We appreciate your generosity and assure you that your flowers will be planted in the village and its environs. LIP SYNC

St. Bride’s GFC, St. Bride’s Ladies GFC, Knockbridg­e Hurling Club and St Bride’s Camogie Club are holding a Lip Sync Battle in Ardee Community Hall on Saturday, April 21, as part of fundraisin­g for the developmen­t been undertaken. More details to follow shortly.

PARISH NEWS

The best way to book Masses is to call to the sacristy before or after Mass any day (Monday evening; Wednesday and Friday mornings–except First Friday; Saturday evening, or Sunday morning), as the Mass book is usually kept there. REFERENDUM

In preparatio­n for the referendum on May 25, when the electorate will be asked if they wish to repeal the 8th Amendment which will allow the Dáil to legislate for unrestrict­ed abortion up to 12 weeks, there will be 12 hours of prayer in all churches in our pastoral area on Tuesday, May 8, from 8.00am. to 8.00pm. Mass will be celebrated in Knockbridg­e at 8.00am.and in Kilkerley at 8.00pm.
