House prices across Dundalk continue rising every month

HOUSE prices across Dundalk continue to rise every month, with the latest figures showing a further 0.9% jump in February.

The analysis from the Residentia­l Property Price Index used by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) indicated that the average house price in the town stood at €192,462.

This is up on the average price of €190,714 recorded in January, when prices were up 2.1%, representi­ng a €1,748 increase in the month. The latest rise means prices have risen by almost €6,000 (€5,736) in the first two months of the year.

The latest RPPI figures mean that the average house price in Dundalk is at its highest level since the CSO began to monitor prices Prices are up 17.3% since April when the average price was recorded at €164,026.

In County Louth as a whole the average price also recorded an increase, of 1.6% in February to an average of €198,073 from €194,933 in January.

Price wise, this effectivel­y means that prices are up by €5,792 in the first two months of the year.

The median price in Dundalk also jumped by a further €2,500 in February to €180,000, representi­ng a €5,000 increase in the first two months of the year.

Meanwhile in Drogheda
