the second division in his time in management with Woodview and Rangers.

It was just no coincidence that the team’s upsurge coincided with his arrival, and he feels after accounting for the potential champions of the second division “there is no reason why we can’t go on and win it. That’s the plan, “he commented after his side’s recovery from the dead.

The tie was only the second game that Glenmuir played in nine weeks,, and tiredness certainly was evident as they entered the second-half, with the stuffing seemingly knocked out of the home side when they fell three nil in arrears .

However, they gained a lifeline when with 15 minutes to go they won a penalty for a foul on John Byrne. The striker stepped up and put the Albion goalkeeper the wrong way with the spot kick.

Suddenly there was energy and urgency in the home side’s play and a few minutes later, they reduced the deficit to the minimum when Brendan Shields made a run down the left and cut inside for his shot from outside the box to be handled.

Again Byrne took on the responsibility of taking the kick and once more put the goalkeeper the wrong way.

This was the signal for the home side to lay siege to the Albion goal and five minutes from time they were level. Rory Phelan set off on a great run down the left and whipped in a cross that evaded everyone bar Byrne on his own at the back post.

His control was perfect and his finish equalled it.

Albion were shell-shocked, and their mood sunk even lower as Glenmuir soared when Oisin Murray rose brilliantly in the six yard box to head David O’Donovan’s cross from the right to the back of the net.
