Glenmore athletes in superb form at PK5K

ANOTHER superbly organised race by North East Runners and Clan Na Gael made the seventh running of The Patsy Kelly 5k a roaring success on Saturday evening.

Fifteen Glenmore AC athletes (both senior and juvenile) joined 895 other runners at the start line for this great event.

First over the line for Glenmore was Ciaran Walsh in 18:26, followed closely by Peter Noone 18:40 who achieved a PB on his inaugural run for Glenmore.

Next in was Paddy White in 18:55 for yet another PB. Kenneth McBride was next in 19:43 followed by Michael McShane 21:15, Lloyd Byrne 21:57, Cronan OShaughnes­sy 22:34, Kinga Byrne 24:02, Ava Ashby 24:08 PB (U20), Kevin McDonald 24:24, Mia Ashby 24:31 (U20), Nu- ala White 25:08, Sarah Mallon 25.11. (U20), Tony Ashby 25:21, Dara Fagan 26:42 and Melissa McCoy 31:12, who also achieved a superb PB.

Senior Glenmore athlete Kevin Harnet is taking part in the Madrid half marathon on 22nd April.

On home soil next up for senior athletes is the DKIT Dundalk 10K on Wednesday 25th April.

Cooley Credit Union Races hosted by Glenmore AC will take place on Thursday 26th April at 6.30pm. This is open to all primary schools in the peninsula and also to primary school children living in the peninsula and attending school elsewhere.
