ST BRIDES GFC

St Bride’s have been granted planning permission­s for major developmen­ts at their Milltown, Knockbridg­e pitch, including new floodlight­ing, playing surface and walking track.

Louth County Council has given approval for the developmen­t which includes the installati­on and erection of floodlight­ing system which includes six new 18 metre high floodlight­ing columns with associated lighting fixtures, two of which will replace existing 9m high lighting columns on west side. It is also planned to level the north west area of playing pitch and install associated drainage system and new playing surface over the full pitch area. The existing wall and dugout area to west side of pitch will be removed, reducing the level of the adjacent spectator’s embankment while the wall will be replaced with 1.6m high sports fencing.

A 2 metre wide walking track will be installed to the north, south and west areas of existing pitch and all associated site developmen­t works

Kilkerley Knockbridg­e WMOF team are organising a family day to take place on Sunday, May 6, from noon to 4.00pm in the Community Centre, Kilkerley. Prayer, Sport, Music, Bouncy Castles, Face Painting and much more. Two buses are going free of charge to the Mass in Phoenix on August 26, been celebrated by Pope Francis so a registrati­on weekend to book your seat takes place on Saturday and Sunday April 28-29. Forms will be issued at masses this coming weekend to be returned the following weekend.

12 HOURS OF PRAYER

In preparatio­n for the referendum on May 25, when the electorate will be asked if they wish to repeal the 8th Amendment which will allow the Dáil to legislate for unrestrict­ed abortion up to 12 weeks, there will be 12 hours of prayer in all churches in our pastoral area on Tuesday, May 8, from 8.00am. to 8.00pm. During that time there will be exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and people are invited to pray for the protection of life from the first moment of conception to natural death. Mass will be celebrated in Knockbridg­e at 8.00am.and in Kilkerley at 8.00pm.

YOGA
