Cooley trounce Glydein under 12 League
Cooley U12 girls travelled to Tallanstown for their second game in the U12 league campaign. They recorded another fine win building on their victory last week. Ciara Boyle and Aisling White joined the squad this week and both contributed to the overall team performance on the night.
Cooley started very strong with Myah Ward opening the score with a goal. Chloe McCarragher added another 3-1 in quick succession. Further points from Lucy White, Aisling White and a fine goal from Aisling White left the opposition with a lot to do. Lucy White then combined great passes with Chloe McCarragher and Ciara Boyle who both found the net, the opposition no doubt glad to hear the half time whistle.
Chloe McCarragher took up the goalie position for the second half and Chloe Boyle moved out field. Saibh Morgan stole the show with 4 goals, two from excellent passing moves with Ellen Callan and Lucy White. Ellen Callan and Rosie Smartt combined to earn another goal and Aisling White added tothe goals scored in the second half. Points from Ellen Callan and Myah Ward left the game beyond reach for Glyde.
Another convincing win for this great group of players, and another week where the forwards take the glory. However the work rate throughout the field by all the players is to be commended. Orlaith Daly and Niamh Donnelly worked tirelessly clearing all ball from the back and were strongly supported throughout the game by Sarah Mallon, Stacey Murray, Tara White, Eilis Murphy and Annie Dunne. Although Anna Dawson, Rosie Smart and Annie Dunne didn’t feature on the score sheet their catching and passing of the ball was well received by their team mates. It was a rewarding night for our players, mentors, parents and supporters who travelled on the night.
