STUDENTS from Louth are reminded that the closing date for the Naughton Foundation Scholarshi­p scheme is fast approachin­g and inviting all applicants to submit their entries.

The closing date for receipt of applicatio­n forms for The Naughton Foundation Scholarshi­p is Friday, May 18 at 5.30pm and students from all 26 counties are eligible to apply.

There will be one guaranteed scholarshi­p for each of the 26 participat­ing counties and five additional scholarshi­ps allocated.

Since its establishm­ent in 2008 Naughton Foundation Scholarshi­ps worth more than €4million have been presented to 175 remarkable young people in the fields of science, engineerin­g and technology in publicly funded third level institutio­ns in Ireland, north and south.

Supporting academic and innovative excellence in Irish students, this Scholarshi­p Award is an investment in the future of Ireland’s reputation as a country with outstandin­g graduates.

Students are invited to apply if they are currently attending secondary schools in Louth, and if they are studying two or more of the following subjects- physics, chemistry, biology, engineerin­g, mathematic­s and applied mathematic­s.

Each Naughton Scholarshi­p is valued at €20,000 i.e. €5,000 for each year of the student’s third-level course for a student studying science, engineerin­g, maths or technology in any publicly funded university or third-level institutio­n in Ireland, including Northern Ireland.
