Rampart too strong for league rookies

-

RAMPART are the early pacesetters in the adult section of the Dundalk Summer League after their comfortable 4-2 win in their opening game against newcomers Coxs gave them full points.

Fane and another of the newcomers, Woodview, are joint second with a point apiece, after playing out a scoreless draw.

On Thursday night three matches were played in the inaugural Under-19 competition which is split into two sections, each with four teams. Albion Rovers lead Group A after a narrow 2-I victory over Glenmuir.

In Group B Muirhevnamor showed that they are well capable of following in the illustrious footsteps of their senior team, who are not competing this year. They gave an 8-2 thrashing to near neighbours Quay Celtic to go straight to the top of their group.
