Nancy Byrne (née Hoey), Castlering, Knockbridg­e, whose death occurred peacefully on 5 May, 2018, peacefully, at Castleross Nursing Home, Carrickmac­ross. Reposing at her daughter Imelda Smyth’s residence, Channonroc­k, from 6pm until 9pm Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from 2pm until 9pm. Removal on Tuesday morning to The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Louth, for 11am Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Nancy beloved mother of Imelda, and muchloved mother-in law of Gerard, grandchild­ren Arelene and Carron. Sadly missed by brothers Anthony (Attie) and Pat, and deeply regretted by relatives and friends. Family flowers only please. House private Tuesday morning, please.

Dessie Murphy, Ashling Park, Cox`s Demesne, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 4 May, 2018, suddenly but peacefully at his residence. Predecease­d by his parents Thomas and Kathleen, brother Declan. He will be very sadly missed by his loving family, wife Helen (née McNulty), sons Thomas, Stephen and Alan, daughters in-law Caroline and Sarah, grand-sons Jordan, Jamie, Robert, Noah and Nathan, brothers Mickey, Jimmy and Pat, sister Ann Brady, brother inlaw Mickey Brady, sisters in-law Imelda Cotter, Bernadette, Ann and Imelda Murphy, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, relatives, wonderful neighbours and friends. Sr. Nuala McCluskey SSL, St. Louis Convent, Dundalk, and late of Blackstaff, Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan and Zonkwa, Nigeria, whose death occurred peacefully at Dealgan House Nursing Home. Beloved sister of Máire and Canon Brian and sister-in-law of Gerald McMahon. Predecease­d by Sr. Ethna SSL, Fr. Peter OMI, Fr. Gerard SPS, Sr. Aileen RSM and Una McMahon. Deeply regretted by her St. Louis family, her nephews and nieces Peter and Patricia, Paul and Deirdre, Ann and Conor, Nuala and Mark and Ross and Rebecca, her grandnephe­ws and grandniece­s, her relatives and many friends. Reposing at St. Louis Convent, Castleblay­ney Road, Dundalk from 2pm to 7pm on Saturday, with Evening Prayer at 5pm. Removal on Sunday at 1pm to St. Joseph’s Church, Castletown, arriving for Funeral Mass at 1.30pm. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

John (Gerard) Murphy, Culhane Street, Dundalk, whose death occurred on 1 May, 2018, in Leamington Spa, England. Loving eldest son of the late Paddy and Nancy (nee Mathews). Deeply missed by his brothers Pat and Jim, nephew Matthew and nieces Marianne and Leanne, his many cousins and wide circle of friends in Ireland and England. John’s funeral will take place in Leamington Spa on 8 June, 2018.

Patricia McCague (née McAleenan), Rock Road, Blackrock, whose death occurred peacefully in Cork University Hospital on 2 May, 2018, following a short illness and surrounded by her loving family. Patricia (retired teacher), beloved wife of the late Hugh, cherished mother of Mary and Catherine and loving grandmothe­r of Brian, Ciara, Fiona and Emma. Deeply regretted by her daughters, grandchild­ren, sons in law Seán and Fintan, brothers Seán and Frank, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Reposing at her home from 12 noon on Friday with removal on Friday evening at 6.40pm for evening prayers at 7pm in St. Oliver Plunkett Church, Blackrock. Funeral Mass on Saturday morning at 10.30am. Burial afterwards in St. Fursey’s Cemetery, Haggardsto­wn.

Hugh O’Donnell, Bray, Co. Wicklow, and formerly of Portlaoise, Dundalk and East Wall, Dublin 3, whose death occurred on 1 May, 2018, peacefully, in the loving care of the staff at Bray Manor Nursing Home. Brother of Helen, Jim and the late Frank; he will be sadly missed by his family, relatives and friends. Requiem Mass on Saturday, 5 May, at 10.00am in the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Main Street, Bray, followed by cremation at Mount Jerome Crematoriu­m, Harolds Cross, Dublin 6W.

Pat Foley, Beechmount Drive, Dundalk, whose death occurred suddenly but peacefully at his residence. Predecease­d by his parents Michael and Elizabeth, sister Carol Hughes, Pat will be very sadly missed by his loving family, wife Josephine (née Smyth), son Patrick, daughters Tracey, Nadine, Dawn, Elizabeth and Cheryl, 9 grandchild­ren, brother Michael, sisters Gloria, Marian, Catherina and Jacqueline, aunt Maura, sons-in-law, brothers and sisters-in-law, his great friend Sean Mc Ardle, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, relatives, wonderful neighbours and friends. Reposing at his residence Beechmount Drive, from Tuesday morning 11am to 8pm. Removal on Wednesday afternoon at 1pm proceeding on foot to The Church of The Holy Redeemer arriving for Funeral Mass at 1.30pm, followed by burial in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Dundalk.

Frank Shortt, Ashgrove, Bay Estate, Dundalk, whose death occurred peacefully in Beaumont Hospital surrounded by his family, on 29 April, 2018. Frank (Retired Customs and Excise) beloved husband of Margaret (née Mc Kiernan), dear father of Jennifer Conlon, Frank and Ian, loving grandad of Chloe, Darragh, Robbie, Adrian Jr, John, Christian, Isabella, Daniel, Ciaran and Emma-Rosa, brother of Maurice, Pat, Mary and late Noreen and Breda. Deeply regretted by his wife, sons, daughter, son-inlaw Adrian, daughters-in-law Kara and Cathy, brothers, sister, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Reposing at his home from 4pm until 8pm on Tuesday. Removal on Wednesday afternoon at 1.30pm to Church of the Holy Family arriving for Mass at 2pm. Cremation will take place on Thursday at 3pm in Glasnevin Crematoriu­m.
