A SMALL but determined Glenmor AC group made the long trek to Enniscorthy for the Leinster Inter Club Relays - and it proved to be a worthwhile trip!

The club had four teams competing on the day with the U9 girls first to take to the track. They finished second in their heat to qualify for the final and stormed home to secure a silver medal. The team victorious was Aine Finnegan, Gillian Tuohy, Aoife Mc Donald, Zoe White and Holly Mc Cann.

The U11 girls followed suit, taking the bronze medal in the final in a photo finish with Grace Keenan, Katie Mc Donald, Emma Mc Carragher, Jessica White and Roisin Daly in top form for the Peninsula club.

The U10 girls ran very strongly to qualify for the final, finishing outside the medals but doing themselves and the club proud was Roisin Daly, Molly Anne Moore, Sarah Murphy and Sarah Duffy.

The U13 girls were outclassed on the day, but it was a mighty team effort from Anna Dawson, Orlaith Daly, Chloe Mc Carragher, Lucy White and Ava Ashby.

The U9 and U11 teams now qualify for the All-Irelands, which is a great achievement by all concerned.

Training continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the track from 7-8 pm. For more details please see www. glenmoreac.com. THE ever exciting Leinster relay championships took place on Sunday at Enniscorthy ACs track in Co Wexford.

With ten teams taking part it was by far the highest representation the club has had at these championships in many years and a credit to the work being put in by the coaches and athletes.

With many athletes having to move up a year to make up teams the card is split into two halves with the odd ages taking to the track in part one and the even ages in the second session in the afternoon.

First into action were the U9s who were having their first taste of action at this level. The U9 boys team of Evan Hearty, Shay Casey and Cillian Mullen did brilliantly to make the final where they showed they have a lot of future potential.

The U11 girls squad of Carmen Rasandratana, Doireann Conlon, Louise Houston, Ellie McVeigh and Nicole Mulholland finished a great third in their heat to qualify for the final. In the final they improved their time by almost a second to finish a solid
