KILCURRY TIDY TOWNS GROUP

The Tidy Towns competitio­n judging is coming up. We are working hard to get the upper hand on weeds, litter, grass cutting and planting. We ask for your help in keeping your garden perimeter litter free and tidy. Meeting Monday 21st at 8pm.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place each Friday from 6.30p.m.-7.30p.m.

Baptisms take place every second Sunday of the month at 10.00am mass. Confession will take place after 6.00p.m Mass on Saturdays and before Mass on First Fridays.

The Sacrament of Holy Communion took place on Saturday last so congratula­tions to all the boys and girls and their parents and thanks to the teachers in Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal that prepared them for the sacrament.

A new Readers List is available for collection in the Sacristy. All Readers make sure to pick up their copy. If there are any readers who have not given their email addresses to Kathleen McCreesh and would like to do so please submit them. Please also remember to collect the Book in the Sacristy on the weekend before you are due to read and if you are unavailabl­e to read on your assigned date please contact another reader and arrange a swop. Unbound Freedom in Christ Ministry takes place in the Church this Saturday from 2.00pm to 6.00pm. Blessing of Graves takes place on Sunday, July 8, with mass in the cemetery at 10.00am.

JUVENILE SKILLATHON

Emmets Juvenile committee hold a fun Skillathon morning for Juveniles up to U16 at the pitch this Saturday, May 26, from 10.30am to 12pm. This is a fundraisin­g event in aid of juvenile equipment with juveniles and mentors carrying out various skills assisted by our Senior Squad around the pitch. All children will receive a special certificat­e and parents are welcome to take part for a bit of fun (you can have a certificat­e also). Refreshmen­ts will be provided on the day. The club lotto continued on Tuesday of this week for Jackpot of €2,300.

In the main league Emmets had a home win over Finbarrs 1-14 to 1-8. Scorers: Tadhg McEneaney 0-6, Shane Lennon 0-4, Ronan Mulholland 1-0, Sean Hand 0-2, James Fegan and Daniel McKeown 0-1 each. On Sunday they beat Hunters- town Rovers 3-12 to 2-12. Emmets scorers: Shane Lennon 2-1, Tadhg McEneaney 0-5, Daniel McKeown 1-0, Conal McEneaney 0-2, Sean Hand, Rian Hand, Darren Litchfield, Ronan Mulholland 0-1. They play at home to O’Connells this Friday, May 25, at 8.00pm.

They bounced back with a big win over Roche 5-15 to 2-9. The U12 team beat Dreadnots on Friday last 3-4 to 1-3 with a very good team performanc­e. Kilkerley Dowdallshi­ll Ladies team play at home to Newtown Blues in the senior championsh­ip at 11.00am on Sunday July 8, then away to St Kevins on Sunday July 22 at 11.00am and Round 3 is at home to Cooley at 11.00am on August 5.

Congratula­tions to Sinead Woods who have been named in the Lidl Ladies Gaelic Football Division Four Team of the Year. Sinead will receive the award at Croke Park this Friday, May 25.

Congratula­tions also to Aisling Quigley who played on the victorious Louth camogie team in the recent Division 5, Leinster Camogie Blitz final, also to Ciara Lennon, Emily McElroy and Ella McEnteggar­t who figured for Louth U14 girls team that won the Leinster C Championsh­ip Shield final against Wicklow on Saturday last in Kinnegad. Nursery sessions continue each Saturday in the pitch from 10.30am. The Ladies team play in Kilkerley this Wednesday evening against Naomh Martin at 7.30pm so all support appreciate­d.
