Assault on woman (21) investigated
A 21 YEAR OLD FEMALE WAS ASSAULTED AT LICENSED PREMISES IN DUNDALK
DUNDALK gardai are investigating an assault on a 21-year-old woman in a licensed premises along Bridge Street on Sunday morning.
The incident was reported to have occurred at 10.50a.m, and the young woman sustained cuts to her face during an assault.
In a separate incident gardai are also investigating a minor assault on a 57-year-old man as he was walking along the Inner Relief road.
Another male, who was in a ‘08’ registered BMW which drove up along the road, jumped out and assaulted the man, leaving him with an injury under his left eye.
Gardai confirmed a series of burglaries were reported over the last week. A shed was broken into on Monday last along Doolargy Avenue. A ‘Garden Care’ lawnmower was stolen along with a Bosch angle grinder.
Gardai are asking local people to be vigilant if they are offered items like this for sale.
A black coloured ‘Giant’ brand bicycle was stolen from the student accommodation block on the Dublin Road on Monday last, May 21st.
Gardai are examining CCTV at a business premises on the Dublin Road after a break in on Wednesday night last. Glass was broken at the front of the property to gain entry, but nothing was reported stolen.
Gardai are also investigating an incident at a second Dublin Road premises which was broken into overnight between Wednesday and Thursday morning last. Entry was gained through the roof of the property, and a partition wall within the premises was also damaged.
In a separate incident, gardai investigated a man on charges of possession of articles with intent to burgle, along Jocelyn Street on Friday morning last.
A garda spokesman con- firmed that they are also investigating an incident at Dundalk court house on Wednesday last, when a suspected attempt was made to ‘supply drugs to a prisoner.’ A 27-year-old woman was arrested in relation to the incident.
