BOWLS
The season has finished for the summer break so thanks to all who competed in a number of tournaments throughout the year and although we had little success all enjoyable involvement. We finished the season off on a high when winning our end of season friendly against Darver and Collon to bring back two cup’s to the club. We wish all members a enjoyable summer and look forward to seeing all back in the first week of September each Wednesday from 7.45pm to 10.00pm in the Community Centre and new members are always welcome to join.

Condolences to Jane and Ray Quinn and family Ballinurd on the death of Gerry Conlon, Dowdallshill father of Jane Quinn. Gerry was laid to rest in St Patrick’s Cemetery on Monday of this week.
SAFEGUARDING
Safeguarding training takes place in the Community Centre this Thursday May 31, from 7.00pm to 9.00pm for parish safeguarding representatives as well as for people who work with children and young people in a parish context. Participants are from Kilkerley, Knockbridge, Faughart, Haggardstown/ Blackrock. Eleanor Kelly the Diocesan Training Co -Ordinator will conduct the session.

Kilkerley Emmets were blessed with a beautiful sunny day for the Club Annual Golf Classic in Mannan Castle on Friday last of which the Electric Ireland team were the winners. Sean O Mahonys GFC were runners up. Closest to pin went to Michael McBride and

The Sacrament of Holy Communion took place on Saturday last so congratulations to all the boys and girls and their parents and thanks to the teachers that prepared them for the sacrament. Sick and housebound will be visited at usual times this Thursday/ Friday. Blessing of Graves takes place on Sunday, August 19, at 11.30am. The Finance Committee meet in the Parochial House at 8.00pm on Monday, June 11. Sr Lucyna thanks all who contributed to the recent collection for missions which raised €1660.40 and 22stg between Kilkerley and Knockbridge Parishes.
