Great band holiday bill for metal fans at Spirit Store

-

It’s going to be hot and heavy in the Spirit Store this bank holiday weekend when Metallita

rock into town to play one of their rare live shows on Sunday night.

Metallitia hail from Drogheda and established a terrific reputation back in the ‘noughties’ when they became Europe’s most highly rated tribute act.

Having traversed the country for several years, playing their awesome and fiery, ‘no prisoners taken’ brand of heavy met- al, the band became national heroes when they won RTE’s reality rock tribute television show, Karl Spain Wants To Rock, in 2010. This saw them take their place representing Ireland as the headline act for Europe’s top tribute festival Glastonbudget, in England.

They created history as the first and, so far, only non-Thin Lizzy tribute act to play the annual ‘Vibe for Philo’ event in Dublin, staged every year in memory of the great Phil Lynott. Metallitia have also played as backing band for the legendary ex-Iron Maiden frontman, Paul Di’Anno, on his occasional Irish tours.

The stage will also be graced by the experimental metal group Svet Kant, featuring Dundalk guitar player, Liam Roy. The band released their debut album ‘Loneliness’ in 2013 and are now are touring to promote their new album ‘ The Visage Unbiased’ before heading to Europe and Russia 2
