Man found with €2,500 of cocaine
GARDAI CONTINUE WITH OPERATIONS TACKLING ILLEGAL DRUGS
A 19-year-old man detained at Dundalk Garda Station was found in possession of €2,500 worth of cocaine, and a further estimated €500 worth of cannabis herb, it emerged this week.
A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Proseuctions (DPP) following the seizure.
In a separate incident a 20-year-old male was questioned by gardai following suspicious activity at Road 2, Muirhevnamor. An estimated €560 of illegal tablets were seized as part of the investigation.
And a 27-year-old man attempted to flee along St. Nicholas Avenue when he was approached by gardai. He was eventually detained and was found to be in possession of a quantity of diazepam tablets and cannabis herb.
Meanwhile, gardai are investigating a house in Claddagh Park last week. A van was reported alight in the driveway of a house at 11.40pm on Thursday evening last.
A house along the Point Road was searched during an investigation into the possession of stolen of property. Footwear and clothing, which were believed to have been stolen, were recovered from the house.
A number of items were stolen from a car parked outside a house in Avondale last weekend. The theft occurred between midnight and 6a.m, and among the items stolen were Dolce and Gabana sunglasses.
Gardai are investigating an assault which occurred along Park Street at around 10.20pm on Sunday night. The victim sustained injuries to his nose and eye. A 21-year-old male was questioned by gardai in relation to the incident.
Information is being sought in relation to the theft of cash from a GP premises in town on June 22nd between 4.30pm and 4.45pm. A young male was seen leaving the premises. He was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a white t-shirt with black writing on it.
In a separate incident at another town centre business, two males were reported to have behind the front desk of a shop and stole cash from purses belonging to staff, which had been left in a back office.
