Tommy in top form after slimming down

-

After going through a double bypass surgery, being housebound and not being able to drive for four months Tommy Tennyson, Belfry Gardens began piling on the weight.

His daughters Karen and Yvonne encouraged him to Join a local Slimming World group with them to get back on track. He lost a few stone, left the group as he thought he could go it alone and regained all the weight back and more. He realised he needed the group for support as well as the support of his wife Patricia.

He rejoined group in 2016 and hasn’t looked back.

Recently named Slimming World’s Man of the Year 2018, Tommy loves the group support he gets each week from his consultant Lynne and also his fellow slimmers which he attends every Friday 9:30am in the Geraldine’s GFC Haggardstown. He says staying to group gets you all the hints, tips and motivation for the week ahead, paying and weighing wasn’t an option for him and he wouldn’t miss his weekly group.

Tommy took up walking after a few months and started with 5 minutes per day as he was using a stick to help him walk, he now regularly walks 5K at least 4-5 times per week and no longer has a stick .

His advice to anyone thinking about losing weight is find a group, get to group, but number one, stay to group .

If you’d like to find out more you can contact Lynne who runs groups locally in Ardee and Haggardstown on 087 9739776 or check out the Slimming World website for more groups in your area .
