Will stick together

way on the day,’ added Catherine who believes that experience will make them even more determined to succeed against Carlow.

While she accepts it is going to be a tough assignment against the Barrowsiders, Catherine is optimistic that the talented Louth attack could prove to be the difference between the teams on Sunday.

‘We know Carlow are a good side having already played them in the league this year. Although we won that game we are expecting it to be very tight on Sunday and being a Leinster Final we are fully aware that we are going to have to fight for everything.

‘We know we have the quality to come out on top and we have a strong forward line with all six players capable of getting scores. If you look at the likes of Kate Flood who can play anywhere and can kick scores without even looking. It’s the same with Lauren Boyle who has a brilliant left foot, while all the forwards work really well together,’ she continued.

Self-belief is also a factor that could work to Louth’s benefit and Catherine reveals that one of the late Micheal McKeown’s talents was to instil confidence in the players.

‘Micheal had a really positive attitude from the very start and he really believed in us and he was able to transfer that to the players. Since Darren came in he has been really brilliant and he has managed to continue that style.

‘It is a proud day for us all to be competing in a Leinster Final and hopefully we will do everyone proud and that we can come home with the victory,’ added Catherine.
